Job PurposeA comprehensive training programme to develop competent and professional Trades-people through a work-based, day-release Construction Apprenticeship Scheme. Job FunctionsProgramme consists of on-the-job training in chosen trade and day release at college. The training programme is normally up to NVQ 3 level. Further qualifications in Site Management through NVQ or HNC may be available depending upon individual. Progression can be made from Trade Apprentice through an Improver/developer level to full trades-person. Further development through Site Foreperson coupled with Site Management training may lead to Site Agent/Site Manager posts to Contracts Manager. Expected remuneration package for a Site Manager may be up to and in excess of £40,000.00 per annum. Programme includes 6-monthly appraisals and wage reviews. QualificationsNone in particular for Trade Apprenticeship, however, further qualifications may require 5 GCSEs Grade C or above including Maths & English but are generally accessible through experience as well, and have a strong interest in a particular trade. SkillsPractical bias, strong desire to succeed, tenacity and enjoy a building environment. Hard working. Relevant ExperienceBuilding industry experience or knowledge would be an advantage. SalaryDepends on age, level of qualification & experience. A 19 year old completing NVQ Level 3 may earn up to £11.50 per hour rising to £13.80 per hour over the next few years.
