Rebranding Launch
LaunchOn Thursday 2 July 2009 Diamond Build PLC held their Summer Party and Rebranding Launch at the Design Museum on The South Bank. The evening began at 6.30 with drinks, canapes and networking, as it was a lovely balmy evening we were able to utilise the large balcony area giving fantastic views of Tower Bridge and the River Thames. Steve Edge, the Designer of Diamond Build PLC's new brand and John Gray, Chairman of Diamond Build PLC are pictured above.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The Angel Raynham Little Diamond Farm Farm
IThe Angel Raynham Little Diamond Farm, as mentioned in the name, is sponsored by Diamond Build PLC. The Farm is Enfield's first farm based on school premises. The farm is home to Chickens, Ducks, Rabbits and Pygmy Goats. As well as benefiting children, the advantages to the neighbouring community are substantial. Diamond Build PLC's Mick Hale, Paul Brooks, Paul Smith and Muri Diamond are pictured above with TV's Michaela Strachan.

Diamond Build PLC is aways keen to support local initiatives especially when the help is linked to the environment and biodiversity.

SLADA Boxing Club
Diamond Build PLC has recently sponsored the SLADA (South Leytonstone Area Development Association) Boxing Club initiative. Mark Rule, a Diamond Build Resident Liaison Officer, is a Director of the club. This club is for young people in Cathall and Can Hall for non contact boxing and will be run by qualified coaches under the guidance of Mark Rule.

SLADA has been awarded a Home Office Grant to help establish and run the club for three years. To volunteer for active involvement to enable the club to grow or join the boxing club please contact Mark Rule on:

Environmental Champions
Diamond Build PLC is working towards becoming a GREENER company. With the help of Mia Manners and Lucille Glenn from Parties for Purposes we are going through a transition period which will take us from Grey to Green. Internally 'Environmental Champions' have volunteered to ensure this process is communciated to you all.

Over the coming months the 'Environmental Champions' will be introducing initiatives and campains to raise awareness in six green practices as follows:

  • Waste & Resource Efficiency
  • Products & Services
  • Biodiversity
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Travel & Transport

Charity Update

Moonwalk
Kerry Boniface, HR Director, took part in the annual Playtex 13.1 miles Moonwalk in May 2009 and raised over £300.00 for Breast Cancer.

Race for Life
Race4lifeMargaret Russel, Contract Administrator, participated in the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Reseach held in Trent Park, Enfield on 21 June 2009. Over 3,000 people took part in this 5KM event and Margaret raised £285.00.I

Nicole Chambers, Accounts Assistant, pictured to the right, took park in the Race for Life on Sunday 19 July 2009 at London's Hyde Park. Nicole finished the race in 62 minutes and raised £205.00.

Asics 10K Run - Get Kids Going
IJason Green, Contracts Manager, ran in the Asics London 10K run which took place on 13 July 2009 starting at Hyde Park and finishing in Whitehall. Jason ran for a charity called 'Get Kids Going' which provides sports equipment for disabled children. His time was 51.43 minutes which meant he came 4000 out of 28000.

Staff Activity Programme

Royal Ascot
North London met South London at Royal Ascot for a fun day ou in June. Eleven staff really made an effort and dressed up for the occasion! A great afternoon was had by all.

Day trip to Brighton
Some of the ladies from Tottenham nearly go blown away during a day trip to Brighton in July. However, they didn't let the weather spoil their day, how could they with Brighton's large shopping area with all the chic boutiques!
